About The Altnets
The Altnets exists because Britain quietly built hundreds of independent full fibre networks, and most people have no idea whether one runs down their street. The big comparison sites barely cover them. We cover nothing else.
Who runs this site
The Altnets is a trading style of Proper Leads Ltd, a UK company registered in England and Wales on 20 November 2019. We have been connecting households with utility suppliers since 2020, with around two million switches and quotes handled to date.
Company number 12323725. Registered office: 5th Floor, 167-169 Great Portland Street, London, W1W 5PF. Registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under reference ZA755016. Our parent brand is Proper Leads.
Where our data comes from
Prices, speeds and contract terms come from live provider data rather than marketing pages, and every page carries the date that data was verified. Coverage claims are checked against each network's own footprint, because altnet availability is decided street by street and no national figure can answer it for your address.
For context on how far full fibre actually reaches, we use Ofcom's Connected Nations reporting. For the switching process we follow the rules published by TOTSCo, the industry body that runs One Touch Switch.
We don't publish a review cadence we can't keep. Every page shows when its pricing was last verified instead, so you can judge for yourself how current it is. If a date looks stale, it is stale, and we would rather you knew that than trusted a promise.
How we make money
When you sign up to a provider through our availability checker, the provider pays us a commission. It never changes the price you pay, and it never changes what we write: providers cannot pay for better reviews, placement, or to remove accurate criticism. Networks we don't have a commercial relationship with are still profiled, because an incomplete map would defeat the point of the site.
What we won't do
We won't rank a provider higher because it pays more. We won't bury a price rise clause because it makes a deal look worse. We won't claim coverage a network hasn't actually built. And we won't present an estimate as a verified figure: where data is missing or stale, the page says so.
Corrections and contact
If something here is wrong, we want to fix it. That includes providers: if we have your pricing, coverage or contract terms wrong, tell us and we will correct it and update the verification date. Email info@properleads.co.uk.
